Community Services

The Community Services Office is located in the Madison County Safety Building in the Criminal Division section.  Community Services is tasked with representing the Madison County Sheriff and the New York's State Sheriffs Association by educating the residents of Madison County to the many special social programs and information available to them.  This is accomplished through presentations and lectures tailored to the various community organizations and business' in the county.

The Community Services Department is responsible for the implimentation of the Operation Safe Child ID program.  The office is also the primary contact for the the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) Program. Community Services provides representation to the Youth Violence Prevention Task Force, Coordinates the Youth Recognition Award Program and provides interaction between RSVP, Office for the Aging, AARP and the Citizen Corp Council.  It also controls the distribution of Child-Safe Gunlocks to handgun owners in the county.  Other areas of interest are:  Domestic Violence Coalition, Elder Abuse Awareness Training and the list goes on.

If you have any questions concerning services offered by the Office of the Sheriff or general questions relating to community matters, the Community Services Office is a good place to call for quick answers.  Direct all calls to 366-2482.
